This is slightly lower than the 12.1 percent The KingŌĆÖs Affection recorded for its finale but higher than the 6.2 percent ratings the drama achieved for its premiere episode. The first episode briefly introduced three key characters in the play. To start off, Yoo Seung Ho appeared as the highly principled scholar Nam Young who refuses to drink the wine that the king has offered. Hyeri was seen playing a struggling aristocrat named Ro Seo, who starts illegally making alcohol to support her family. The premiere episode of The One and Only garnered average nationwide ratings of 3.390 percent, according to Nielsen Korea.
