On August 4, CJ Entertainment unveiled the first poster of Pawn, announcing its release next month. Pawn is about a man, who would do anything for money, and his colleague raising a child who they took as a collateral. In the released poster, Doo Suk (Sung Dong Il), tough but warm-hearted private moneylender, Jong Bae (Kim Hee Won), a grumpy yet warm man, 9-year-old Seung Yi (Park So Yi), and adult Seung Yi (Ha Ji Won) are smiling brightly. At the same time, the trailer for Pawn was also unveiled, drawing attention. The video starts with the intense first encounter between the tough private moneylender duo Doo Suk and Jong Bae, and the worldŌĆÖs loveliest collateral 9-year-old Seung Yi. Furthermore, contrary to Doo SukŌĆÖs plan to take Seung Yi as collateral and keep her for a few days, the duo end up raising the kid.
